Both my children go to GMG. It is an excellent school where all teachers, students & parents knows everyone else & everyone really take interest in the students in & out of class. Many students have 'adopted' other students parents as their own. The school strongly urge all students into taking extra-curricular activities. They figure the more time a student is busy & surrounded by other students, parents, coaches, teachers, etc., the less time they have to get into trouble. And this concept seems to be working great. The education is excellent & hard to be matched by another district. The students are taught so much more & sooner than at other schools, and still finish with good grades. The small classes gives the students more one-on-one time with the teachers, if needed. The dedication of these teachers are awesome, & in my opionion, cannot be matched.
I am a would-be senior at GMG High. The education one can get there is excellent, thanks to the great teachers and small class sizes. However, the clique system is enforced strongly by the student body, leaving some students isolated, or alienated, if you will. I sadly happened to be one of those students and dropped out half-way through junior year. (I would have been at the top of my class in Calculus next year.) I strongly feel that this issue needs to be addressed by the faculty, because many students' potentials, such as my own, may not be fully reached.
GMG is an excellent school where any child can be involved in sports and extra curricular activities. The education that the kids receive there is very good and in a small community everyone has the opportunity to know one another, and interact with other students in different grades. I graduated from there as well and had 29 students in my class. It is small and personal and the teachers sincerely do care about their job and the students. However sometimes parents get to coach their kids, and at this school 2 families have a lot of say so in the football and baseball programs. Other than that, this is a great school.
