Teacher quality
Principal leadership
Parent involvement
I am a parent of a first grader at this school and a wife of one of the middle school teachers. I attended Catholic School, as did my husband, all my life. We have also had experience with him teaching in one other Catholic school and a public school. I have also assisted with instructing children educated in the public schools. I can say from experience, the quality of education is much higher at a private school due to smaller class sizes, more teacher interaction, a more caring environment, and a more respectful environment as well. A Catholic School offers something a public school does not, and that is a fundamental relationship with Christ. There is no greater gift from God than a child, so why wouldn't a parent want to make the little bit of financial sacrifice to give their child the best education they can offer? If you are worried about the cost of a Catholic education, there are scholarships available to cover a large portion of the cost. However, it is worth every penny you will spend. Cut back on eating out 2-3 times a month and you're paying for your child's future with that.
My children have been going to Assumption since Kindergarten. Both of them have thrived in the small classrooms and have friends, not only their age, but in other grades also. The quality of the education is above standard in the area as you can see from the Basic Skills Test scores posted on Assumptions website. If you want a quality, Catholic education for your children, I would recommend checking into the school.
Hey I'm not a parent, im a student so take it from me. This is an awsome school! I have been here since kinderagrten and have never had any complaints! What I love about this awsome private school is the really small classes. The teachers help you out a lot and a lot of attention! I think this is the best school ever. I dont exaggerate.
I love Assumption school because it is a family. Big kids look out for little kids and the teachers truly know and care about your kids. Lessons are taylored around your childs needs. There is a diffence in behavior between assumption students and public school students. The students have respect and are well behaved.Small classes.
my children went to assumption and got a great education in a caring, disciplined, christian environment. Their friendships have remained solid for years and years since they graduated. The parents of their friends became my friends. It is a academically challenging, and provides the extra help needed. just ask for it. it teaches self-discipline, and the work ethic needed to be successful in life.
Wow! I attended this school for 2 years and I love it! The teachers are all kind, smart, and want to help everyone learn! I love this school! We go to mass and learn about God. This school is great!
Just graduated my third child from Assumption, the teachers genuinely care about each student. The small teacher to student ratio, gives each child the individual attention they need and deserve. At the graduation all the longtime teachers were there. My favorite thing is watching the older students interact with the younger students (pre-k through 2nd grade). The parents want to be involved, because the teachers and principal are so easy to talk to. Great school!!!
If you are looking for a school for three year old pre-kindergarten through eighth grade education, Assumption Catholic School Granger, IA is DEFINITELY the right path to travel on. I attend this wonderful school and let me just say, this school is almost perfect in every way. Even though we are quite a small school, we have caring teachers, wonderful staff, a magnificent principal, and marvelous education.

My name is Dillon and I go to Assumption School in Granger IA. It's a great school and if anyone who reads this thinks its a bad school they need to come see for themselves. It has caring teachers and a great principle. Please read this and know it is a great place!
My children are extremely happy at Assumption. They are receiving a great education and test very high on the Basic skills tests. It is a wonderful, close-knit school where the children all learn to respect each other and their differences. Every parent has the opportunity to be highly involved at this school, if they so choose. Our teachers are dedicated and hard working. Two of our teachers won awards in the 2006-2007 school year - they have both been with the school for over a decade. If you come to visit, I think you will feel the sense of family as you walk in the front door!
I think that Assumption is a great school. It is a safe school with caring teachers and a caring principal. I am glad that I get the opportunity to go to Assumption and I think that anyone who thinks bad things about it needs to go to the school and see the greatness for themselves.
I attended Assumption School for grade school along with all of my brothers and sisters. Assumption laid the groundwork for us to succeed throughout high school, college and beyond. We all have professional degrees. The reason I chose to move back to this community was, in large part, to send my children to Assumption. I have been thrilled with the progress my children have made there. The religious education is top notch. The children go to church and say the rosary weekly, they have religion on a daily basis and are fully prepared for the Sacraments. The classes are small and they get a lot of individualized attention. Absolutely no child falls through the cracks. The teachers challenge the children and really seem to foster their individual interests. I see the teachers as loyal and enthusiastic about teaching. My children love their school and can't wait to go every day.
I had sent my 3 kids thier to get a religious education. Which I felt Assumption did a find job. But the problem was that they would change principals every 1 to 3 years and most leave unhappy to the parents complaints. For the teaches some where good, but them you would get retired teaches from the public school which where burn out and did not care. The four upper grade class change teaches almost every year. Each teacher has two grades to teach with very little help. Most new families move into the town find it very hard to adjust and most leave in short while. My kids love the public school and most of thier Assumption class mates would go if they had the choice.
