It is unfortunate that the other person who wrote a review had such a negative mindset about this school. I have had five children go through the Carlisle system, and Hartford is my favorite of all the buildings.
I believe the teachers work hard to get to know each child individually, personally and academically. They strive to challenge each one to their fullest potential. Some of my children have been athletic or musically inclined, but others have not been at all, and I did not feel as though it impacted the quality of education they received.
Is there room for growth? Of course. Show me a school that doesn't. However, the time and energy this entire staff puts in everyday to "do better", is amazing!
If you want your child to feel loved, to see what it means to love learning, to experience the struggle and excitement of learning something challenging, then you will not be disappointed in choosing this school for your child.
Out of 4 states and 10 districts my family has experienced, Hartford is by far the very worst. The office staff are bullies, and therefore bullying is allowed in the student body. The only programs they deem worthy of investing in are band and sports, so the children who are there to learn or who are there and need to be challenged because they are ahead of the curve get left behind and all but ignored. The school wants the smart kids there for their test grades, but they don't want to invest anything into those same kids unless they are scoring points on a ball field somewhere. Stay away from Carlisle schools unless you are a jock or a bully. If you are a jock or a bully, you should thrive and do just fine there.
