I attended Independence High School for the last three years of my high school education. The school prepared me for college far more than I realized at the time. Teachers were almost allways helpfull and willing to meet with students and go over asignments with them. I spent countless mornings in teachers rooms getting help. The teachers, however, also encouraged students to ask questions in class. I was never in sports in this school, but the school was very supportive of sports, and pep rallys were common. I was involved in Band, Choir, Speech, Drama, American Feild Service, French Club and Tech. club at different times throught High School. All of these were great programs that taught me to strive for success, work with others, and make friends while keeping up with my studies.

I currently am attending Independence high school. I would have to say the best thing about this school is its band. They have a wonderful band and band director, Mr. David Lang. He is so energized, he wears out me out just watching him. He is so passionate about wat he does and he enjoys doing it too. I am glad to be one of his students.

Independence High School was great, except for the Math program. The contemporary math system they have been using for the past five years as an experiment was detrimental to many. Combining many subjects and learning them quickly without much practice was not benificial. Overall I enjoyed attending Independence, expecially the teacher interaction with the students. They are what make this school great!

The high school is great. The math department is very supportive and go out of their way to help the individual student. The band department for 5 consecutive years has gone to state and gotten either 1st or 2nd. It's small town, but wonderfull! Shannon
