I taught in small school districts (1 and 2a) for eleven years before moving to Marshalltown. Although I was nervous about being in a big school district from the start, it didn't take long to see the greatness of Miller. For having over 80 staff members and over 750 students, the principal is familiar with what each teacher is doing in his/her classroom and with the students' academics and extra-curricular activities. Even though Marshalltown is a 4a school district, our class sizes are comparable to and even smaller than small school districts. The technology integrated at Miller is also top-notch. We have a STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) lab that all students work through, Chrome books in our science classrooms, three fixed computer labs, as well as portable computer labs. Teachers at Miller are well versed with the Common Core and it is evident in our daily plans. Miller Middle School is a great school for every student who passes through our doors.
