Unless your parent is a teacher, on the school board or an alumni, a student doesn't matter. These are the only students who get attention and support. No one else matters. Academically favored students, again, teacher's children, school board member's children and alumni's children get every opportunity to participate or advance. No one else is considered. Disappointing my tax dollars pay for this. The academic advisor is lazy and useless. Most teachers who have been there forever should retire. Not all are bad, but too many.
There are many opportunities for students to be involved in activities and academics at this smaller school. The counselor has done a nice job with finding accelerated classes and online options for my advanced students. The new athletic facilities are a plus!
My three children have received excellent guidance and all have been accepted into top-notch public research institutions. All in all, Panora has been a great place to raise my kids and the schools have gone above and beyond my expectations.
I agree with the last post. I grew up and graduated from this school district. My children attended for a couple years until we moved out of state. Wow what a difference! My kids were behind! They do the minimum required, and nothing more. The parental involvement is limited to a "group type" and that rules the decisions. Not very diverse. Although I don't regret time here, I am dissapointed that they aren't more visionary to the future with their thinking.
