Check their report card first. They have been in the failing zone for several years. The lowest of scores for the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students. I think it is the teachers performance or non performance and I think they are getting paid way too much for a failing school. They need to clean house and get new teachers..because they are the problem. Our kids deserve better. Thanks.

Whittier Elementary has been blessed to have exceptional teachers with extensive experience and passion for their students' learning. The level of teacher effort is unparalleled anywhere. We are getting a new, but experienced principal this year (07-08) but word on the street is she is fantastic with kids, parents and teachers so we are hopeful the excellence will continue. There is an outstanding PTO. Academics are fantastic, the art and music teachers are inspired. PE is fun for all, not all of my kids are athletic. Diverse population which helps all students find what they have in common is greater than their differences.
