Urbandale does a poor job preparing students for the rigors of college lif . They seem more interested in externals such as show choir and band. The academics low in the list of the administrations list of priorities.
Urbandale High School is an excellent example of the way a school should be run. The teachers are fun, caring, and they submit their time to make sure you understand and have a great learning experience. The principal is also so much fun to have around! He also maintains order and control within the school as a great leader. As a student who moved from Urbandale I appreciate the atmosphere and the fun learning environment that I experienced there. In all honesty the only other school I would consider in the Des Moines area would be Waukee.
I went to this school and had two children that went here. It is wonderful. It is rated 8th in the state of Iowa. Iowa is rated 3rd in the nation. The quality, community feeling and size is way above average. I would recommend this school anyone.
