Our award-winning website, GreatSchools.org, is the nation's leading guide to PreK-12 schools, with profiles of 200,000 public and private schools, and more than one million community ratings and reviews. Our new program, GreatKids, is a mobile-friendly stream of information and activities that helps parents guide their children to education success. This year our combined programs will reach more than 52 million unique visitors, including more than half of all American families with children.

Our staff of approximately 60 has expertise in digital media, parenting, and education. We work together to create innovative and impactful resources for families, combining high-quality research with intuitive design. Headquartered in Oakland, CA, GreatSchools operates programs in a growing number of cities and states across the country, including Detroit, Indianapolis, and Milwaukee. We currently operate with a $10-15M annual budget.

VP Marketing

GreatSchools is looking for an energetic Marketing leader who will push the envelope to help us achieve our mission of improving educational outcomes for kids by inspiring and supporting parents to be their champions. In this pivotal role, you will be the chief brand manager, oversee product marketing for our consumer and enterprise offerings (GreatSchools.org, GreatSchools Local, and GreatKids.org), manage communications and media relations, lead customer care, and support revenue teams.

Strong candidates will embody our core values, think both creatively and analytically, and excel at articulating compelling and effective strategies. You are also adaptable, collaborative, and work well in a matrix organization with an agile approach to product development.

Digital Writer/Editor/Content Producer

Our small energetic editorial team is looking for a wonderful collaborative digital writer/editor/content producer who is passionate about education and parenting. We are open to associate editor or senior editor level experience.

This is a 3-month contract position (approximately 20-30 hours a week). This contract has the potential to transition into a full-time position.

Senior UX Designer

Do you love designing things that actually make a difference in the lives of those who use them? At GreatSchools we develop products that helped half of America’s families get their kids a great education last year. This position gives you a chance work on a top 500 website, alongside an experienced team, that delivers a great deal of value to real people.

We have an immediate position available for an experienced Senior UX Designer to produce high quality user interfaces for web and mobile properties. The UX Designer will be responsible for interaction design, information architecture, wireframes, and mock ups for GreatSchools’ products. Qualified candidate will work independently and with experienced team members, under the supervision of the VP of Product.

Delaware Community Outreach Coordinator

We want to see every child succeed. How does it start? Involved parents.

We have launched an ambitious program, GreatSchools Delaware, to provide quality educational information to Delaware’s parents. GreatSchools Delaware brings comprehensive, audience-appropriate material to parents across the state, working in conjunction with community partners in the Wilmington, DE area to help parents choose the right school for their children and support their children’s educational success.

This is not your typical, stay at your desk kind of job. Sometimes work will be required in the evenings or on weekends; you will be out in the community one day and at your desk the next; each day brings something different.

This position reports to the Senior Director of Local Engagement.
