We had a horrible experience at this school involving lack of safety on the playground and lack of supervision. Our son was seriously hurt with a permanent injury. The principal handled it so poorly. We were also very dissappointed with the culture of the school . . . it is very punishment based. They also do not serve the gifted children well. Our daughter was so far ahead in Kindergarten and they refused to test her. She was so bored in the classroom that she stopped doing the classwork. This school system is the main reason we left Kansas and moved to another area of the Country with an incredible school system that has a positive discipline program and has a tremendous gifted program. Both my children are now well challenged and much happier. I guess it is all relative. In that area of the Country, that school district is the best of the worst, but, there certainly are far, far better school districts in other parts of the country that will serve your children better.
This is a great school with amazing teachers who care deeply about their students. The office staff is super friendly, and the principal is top-notch. The curriculum is challenging and definitely much harder than at our previous school in another state.
My daughter has attended Meadowlark for 3 years now, and it is an excellent school. Parent involvement is amazing, and all of the teachers are excellent, hard-working and caring. Best elementary in the Andover district.
I have been extremely disappointed with the way math is taught at this school. Curriculum and the methods are below average. Also very snobbish environment.
Great school. All 4 of my kids have attended at some point, and it gets an A+ from all of us! The teachers are wonderful, and parents are encouraged and allowed to be involved.
Parent involvement is extremely high at this school, the staff has worked hard with my son to improve his reading. I have been impressed with this school.
Our daughter is in special education at this school. This is by far the best elementary school in the Andover district. Great caring teachers, excellent teacher/student ratio, wonderful fine arts teachers/classes. The paraprofessional that helped our daughter one-on-one this year was a miracle for our child. This school is not overcrowded compared to the other elementary schools in the district and is up for a remodel in the next 2 years to bring everything up to date and add more space. The technology offered is very good, with mobile computer labs available, and the library is top-notch. I can't say enough good things about this school.
