My grandkids attend Eudora Elementary school. They have been blessed by caring, dedicated teachers. A special thanks goes out to Eythen's, Harleigh's, and Breeeanna's teachers this school year (2010-2011). Grammy J
Mr. Lauer, THE ABSOLUTE BEST PRINCIPAL I HAVE EVER KNOWN! He is outside with the kids in the heat and in the cold, before and after school. Our son was in Kindergarten last year and wanted to walk to the crossing guard. He had to walk through a very LARGE field and I wasn't comfortable with that so I asked the secretary if they would help point him in the right direction. He already knew where he was going but at the end of the day Mr. Lauer walked him all the way and our son felt very proud of himself. The new school opened for students to meet their teachers today and the way everybody was is just amazing. They are very helpful and all you have to do is address a concern and they have it fixed in no time at all. WONDERFUL DISTRICT FOR SPECIAL NEEDS STUDENTS 2!
my son started kindergarten this yr in Mrs. Sweany's class and she took the kids into her life and we took her into ours. she listened to us and we did the same to her my son loves school now and has his sister ready to go. how positive is that! I love this school district.he loved music and PE sooo very much and participated at every chance the was given. I would hate to leave this school to take a chance on another and it not at least match the quality I have experienced here.
Having my first child enter kindergarten this year, I was more nervous than she was. Mr. Woodward was an outstanding teacher. Words can not describe how grateful my husband and I were to have him as our daughter's teacher. The music and pe programs were outstanding as well. They allowed 5 year olds to feel like big kids and gave them every oppotunity to excell. The principal, Mr. Laur, is amazing with the kids. Every morning he is at the door greeting the kids with 'high fives' and welcomeing words. As a parent that was a bonus in our eyes. I am so glad that we moved here and were blessed with the Nottingham school. It has a wonderful learning program that my daughter thrived in. Thanks!
Our daughter thrived in Mr. Woodward's classroom. Her confidence in herself seemed to improve. Mr. Woodward showed great concern and love for the students. I would have liked more art and music in this kindergarten program (they had no music and very little art), but it was a half-day schedule then (in 2005-06). Now the school has full-day and half-day kindergarten and may have changed the curriculum.
We have had our child who has autism enrolled at nottingham. They have bent over backwards to do what is asked of them on his IEP. They have a fairly new autism program, and it is becoming one of the best as they continue to strive to get better. We are pleased with their program, and the obvious concern they have shown toward him as a whole person. I would recommend this school to any one who has a child with autism. Their screening programs are incredible and extremely thorough. They have an incredible pep program for special needs children, and their care extends in k-2. We were pleasantly surprised with their autism program there.
In moving here midyear, we were concerned about our very shy first grader. We've been extremely pleased with her teacher, Miss Jandl. She has gone beyond what is expected to help our daughter 'fit in' and meet her classmates. She has made our daughter feel very welcome in her classroom. She's wonderful at communicating with parents and promotes not only academic growth, but also social and emotional. She creates a positive and happy atmosphere for the students to learn in. Good behavior is rewarded and bad is dealt with appropriately. Although I have no doubt that the principal, Mr. Lauer, can be the disciplinarian, he is a happy and fun-loving man who is well-respected. He provides the kind of environment where the kids have the idea that school is a fun place to learn. He is outside greeting the kids every morning before school and telling them goodbye after school.
