Eureka is an excellent school to attend because the staff members are of a very high caliber and really prepare students well for college and life experiences. Additionally, aside from the professionalism exhibited by the staff members, they also are there to help whenever students need something that may not even pertain to school and go above and beyond their job descriptions on a daily basis.
Growing up in Eureka, I had a great education. The teachers prepared me for a successful college career and I always felt that there was someone I could talk to. Going to school in Eureka, even though there was drama, I knew that everyone would deb there to support me (especially the teaching staff). They still keep in touch and ask how I'm doing fairly regularly.
I went to school in Eureka from sixth grade all the way up to my senior year. The reviews I have read on here do not fit my experiences I had at Eureka Jr./Sr. High School. As a student there, I found myself in a small and loving community, where the teachers genuinely care about not only your performance in school, but about you as an individual as well. At Eureka Jr./Sr. High, you are surrounded by teachers and coaches who want to see you achieve even your wildest dreams. From 5-Star faculty to a great building with very new technology, Eureka is a great school for everyone.
I am a former student of Eureka Jr./Sr. High School. I dropped out because of severe bullying and the complete disinterest of the school board to take action. I went on to receive my GED and went straight to college at age 16. This was due to my own interest in furthering my education and not because of any support from teachers or school board. The state of student life should be a cause of concern to say the least. Bullying is a terrible problem. The staff shows favoritism to students who are more active in sports and the 7th through 12th grade set-up under the same roof is a major problem resulting in (among other things) thirteen year-olds dating eighteen year-olds. This school is a disgrace and is in major need reorganization and getting priorities straight.
This school and district in all are in serious need of attention and better leadership. Many things have been overlooked as far as problems with other students and students who arent involved in a sports program of some sort. The state really should investigate this district and its leaders...
