As far as discipline there is a problem, but we need to look at why. Harassment, name-calling, bullying, from students & teachers, is at an high, and who your family is and how long you've been in the community, if you play sports, seems to be the determining factors on whether or not it will be corrected or stopped. Sadly, it's like this in most rural communities. As far as drugs and alcohol, there is a severe problem. Pregnancy seems to be the "in" thing with the girls and is on the rise. Garnett needs a center or game-room where the kids can meet and have something to do other than just hangout. They do have the Alternative Learning Center but it needs to be considered more of a helping center not a way to get through high school. These kids can have a bright future.

There is a serious discipline problem at this school. I feel sorry for the faculty, because they do not have the backing they need to deal with students that will not behave or perform academically. I don't know if it's the school board, prinipal, state laws, or what, but something needs to be done.

ACJSHS is a great school but has some quirks, for example: unfriendly and unwelcoming staff. Something we need to work on.

I beleive Anderson co schools are pretty good... could use more teachers and speical teachers for gifted and underachieve students. Not alot of peer pressure here as well. and not alot of drug use. There have been alot of pregancies tho.. we could use more education at a younger age to the students, starting with the 6th grade.. beleive or not some kids are having sex at that age. Shocking, I know! Parents also have to be responsible to edcuate thier children on sex. Thnak you
