I agree with both reviews. The laws that any charter schools in Kansas have to be goverened by the School Board is a joke. The attitude from the board has never shown that they actually care about the students. They were extremely quick to revoke the charter. But, the staff here is very dedicated & the curriculum & foreign language is a must for the times that we live in. It atleast allows the students to be competitive with other children in other states. I believe my children will return, but I am really sad that the curriculum will not be offer & maybe not the foreign language. What a waste!

Unfortunately, the KCKPS has not allowed this school of operate as it was designed and the curriculum that should be in the school has not yet been fully implemented. Parents offer very mixed reviews about the school to the founders -- from very satisfied to totally frustrated with the District for not implementing the unique features that were supposed to be in the school. As it stands, based on the unique features that have been implemented, the school is still a cut above what the other schools offer. The school has an in-school bank (kids are taught about personal finances and saving), an in-store school that gives students a chance to operate a business and begin the process of learning how businesses work from the top down rather than from the bottom up. Foreign languages are taught at the school, also.

Dedicated staff and a challenging curriculum. Maurice Holman uses proven curriculum that is different from all other KCK Schools.
