This school in Lenexa has no concept on respect for others and the environment they spend there time at. The only care about school needs. They couldn't care less on teaching them life lessons. The school is trashed by the kids day in and day out and the teachers do not care. In my experience in school if we left our class trashed every day they would make us stay and clean up. They treat the kids like there are no issues besides grades. There are tho some very good teachers there that do care about there school career. But that's not everything in this world. It's sad to see them let the kids do what they want. And not teach life lessons.
Whether you have been at the parish a year or 25 years is irrelevant. The truth is that this school is not all good or all bad. All people have their own experiences with the school, just as each child and family are different, so are their experiences. Such as life, some are positive and some are negative. I have seen the administration handle situations well and I have seen them handle situations very poorly. There are some top quality teachers, some in between teachers and some that are not so great. There are some grade levels that have a stronger teaching staff than others and some that could use some structure and guidance. I have seen poor behavior displayed by the administration and staff as well as parents. The truth is that these are real life experiences, no one is perfect and there should always be room for improvement. It would be nice if everyone could work together in peace and harmony but that stands for administration and parents alike. It takes listening and accepting responsibility on all parties and that seems to be the missing link. The priority should always be the children and it is unfortunate they are the only ones that suffer from these acts.
We have been members of this parish for the last 10 yrs and have been part of the school for the last 7. Holy trinity is a wonderful school. We have 4 children, including one who is a child with special needs and they have been very accommodating in meeting her needs. Over the past few years we have had changes in administration and leadership, which to me has been nothing but positive. As with any change, there are some who acclimate and others who fight it tooth and nail....this is what is going on at our school. In my opinion, the parents who have had problems with the administration are ones that feel "entitled". If you want an excellent education with traditional values, morals, and a strong administration than HTCS is a great choice.
I transfered here from florida so I could raise my kids in a community environment. My daughter is an A student, reading above grade level. The school called an outside agency and allowed that agency access to my children without notifying me. Very unhappy with the lack of communication. Her teacher is great, love the academics, hate the small town cliquish attitude.
I went to HTS great school, make great friends, teachers care bout' you and a religious community
HTS is an excellent school. Reading through some of these reveiws I'm suprised to find people think other wise. Academically it is top notch...all you have to do is look at the assessment scores to know. They received the Building Standard of Excellence in Reading, Math, & Science. The students go on to extremely hard high schools and do very well. My children received an excellent education, made life long friends, and still love to come back and visit with the teachers...I don't know how it could have been a better experience.
I think it is an awesome school! i just moved to this school this year and i have been with nothing but kindness
I love the school. It's got great teachers, students, and parents. The whole bringing up of every child from preschool to an adult in the church is just fabulous
We sent our kids to Holy Trinity School to get a good Catholic education. Unfortunately, the school suffers from a discipline problem. Whether it comes from not wanting to upset the parents and loose the tuition, or a completely oblivious administration, many kids become uncomfortable at this school if they are not part of a selected group. There are many wonderful families that attend the school, but the school experience is overshadowed by the kids and there parents. Maybe someday it will change. I pray that it does.
We've been very happy with Holy Trinity since our daughter started there four years ago. The homework level was a bit strong in the first grade but has been at about the right level the past couple of years. They have made tutoring available in areas where students may be falling behind. The activities such as CYO sports help parents and students get to know each other and become a community outside of the classroom.
I believe this school is lacking in academic success. There is an overabundance of homework given to the point it is not productive. Emphasis seems primarily on punishment rather than positive encouragement. Class ratio in my child's second grade was 27/1. The community is somewhat cliquey and it helps if you're willing to be outgoing and try to fit in with those that are instrumental in directing the school's PTO and activities. It can be draining to try to fit in here and I believe that feeling trickles down to the students. I don't know that it is the strongest in community feeling.
I think it is a very good school but the only thing that i had a problem with going to that school was the activites! The activities was partly fun you really couldnt express yourself!! You had to follow by there rules! When was i going to show my true colors? That was the only problem!
I just graduated from Holy Trinity, and I must say that this was the worst school anyone could ever attend. The discipline is aweful. The teachers were graet, I loved them, but the scool overall was just aweful.
As a parent of four children, we have our 3rd child here and I love it! My husband attended Holy Trinity also and there is the closest community of friends you'll ever establish! We are blessed to have a wonderful staff and a great parish! Your child could only thrive and accell in this school!
