first of all everyone who says this school is a hard place growing up if you just move well okay that might be fine but isn't that with almost every place if you don't fit it you don't fit in. And our sports programs are awesome our football team went runner up in state ! and our baseball team made it to state. great school teachers are great but we have so many activities at louisburg high school don't judge this school cuz its a brand new school from 04' so people who have an opinion about it from longer than that date its a total flop because it has change in so many ways including its location and size.
I am a student at Louisburg High School, I came into town with no relatives here, and no roots. Some reviewers have said it's hard to grow up in Louisburg schools if you don't have family here.. well guess what, you're going to have people with both sides, but it really isn't. I'm far from having relatives in Louisburg, but honestly, if you make friends here and really get to know the people, you'll have a great experience! I love this school district, the teachers get along great, they're like their own family. The student body supports each other, and we have the most school pride you will ever see! I've been in both Band & Choir, I can say the LHS Band is one of the biggest in MiamiCounty. Both Band & Choir work extremely hard, the fine arts program is wonderful! All in all, Louisburg is a great community!
I am attending right at the moment and i just moved here and i love it. I came into louisburg without a name just a new face. The teachers, parents, and other staff are involved in everything. It has good programs in sports, clubs, music/fine arts, pretty much everything. The kids are very welcoming, the teachers make classes enjoyable, and its just an all around good school. If you like small towns, a great atmosphere, and a school full of great things then send your child here now!
I was a student at Louisburg High School, and I am very sorry to agree that it was a hard place to grow up. There really is not much school spirit if you compare it to many larger high schools. The students are usually very judgemental, and the fine arts programs are almost non-existant. I believe that children will have a better education at a larger 'city' school and will have the oppertunity to explore different subjects, more in depth at other schools. Not to mention the diversity at Louisburg High School is not much at all. You have mostly white farm raised kids. There may be some good things about a small rural school, but the cons outweigh the pros. The town of Louisburg is also surrounded by a drug culture, mostly Methamphetamine. 'That's all those kids talk about.' Can be quoted from a Johnson County student.
I have been in the Louisburg School District for over 10 years now and I feel it is a great atmosphere to grow up in. I was not related at all to anyone in Louisburg when I came, but I do not think it could have been any better elsewhere. The academics are top-notched and the sports teams are great. I am not in band or choir so I cannot comment about those programs but I can say that everything is well run at Louisburg. This community is brought together by sports and such, but no one gets special treatment because of it. I for one have been challenged even more since I am a member of more than one sports and extra-curricular activities. If you are looking for a great small town community for your child, then Louisburg is just about the perfect place.
I am currently a senior at Louisburg High School right now, and I can honestly say that my experience in this school district has been great. The teachers, for the most part, are very involved and try to keep the student interested in what they are talking about. The other 'reviewers' have the right to state their own opinion, however, I question who these people really are/were. I am far from popular, and I too moved to this school district without having a name in the town. I believe, personally, that these 'reviewers' were probably the student who sits in the back of the classroom and never says a word unless called upon. Bottom line is that Louisburg is like one huge family although it is a very small community. If you like a small town with this type of atmosphere, send your child to Louisburg. They'll like it. I promise.
I was a student at LHS 13 years ago. I'm sorry to see, from the other reviewer, that things haven't changed. As one who wasn't related to the town, I can say that this school system was a very hard place to grow up.
I am a student at this high school and honsetly i want to say do not send your kids here. Everything revolves around sports. There are little art and music programs offered. If your not related to the town then you have no chance of fitting it. Seriously send your kids to private school over going to this 'jail' they call school.
