We are in our second year at this school and have had quite a mixture of feelings about it. I have 3 children attending. When we first moved here, it was somewhat hard for the kids to fit in as most of the kids in their classes had been there together since the beginning. I think that's how it is at most schools tho. But instead of complaining and ultimately changing school, I felt it was a great opportunity for my children to embrace a challenge and conquer it. By the end of the year, they all had established friends and were involved with many extra curricular activivties. This year, they fit in as well as any of the other kids. The teachers are all no nonsense and I love it. They don't let my kids get away with slacking at all and they actually care about how they do. The town revolves around the scool and looks out for eachother. It's all in how you make things and we've decided to make it enjoyable and it is nothing less than that.

all 5 of our children did very well in their previous schools but as soon as we transferred here they have had nothing but problems here. A couple of them are failing a couple courses now and there are a lot of bullies in this school. So far in the year we have been here, we have not had many positive experiences with this school. I must say that they do go out of their way to help the children make up work, etc. so in that aspect not all bad. Just somehow the kids lost motivation when they came to this school. The bullies are a big problem that the school is not doing much about. They seem to twist things around, after all, it must be the new kids fault, right?

I have had a child in this school and about ready to send my second one. I have had nothing but a wonderful experience. The kindergarten teacher is excellent and has been there many years. The staff, parents and people in the community are involved and very welcoming. I am a teacher myself and I have been very impressed. The academics are excellent and the school makes every effort to make your child have a very successful school experience.

Lyndon Elementary has made our child feel quite welcome. It is tough for a child to attend a new school, but the teachers and principal have made it an easy transition. The communication is excellent. There is nothing better than having your child want to go to school every day. Thank you to Mrs. Gilliland and staff for all you do.

Definitely avoid this school. If your child did not start kindergarten here, he/she will have a difficult time fitting in.

When my older kids went through grade school here, it was more than adequate. My younger kids went though the fifth grade at LGS. The last two years were terrible. This was a few years ago and they have some new personnel working for them now. But it seems like no matter who the Superintendent is, the board will do whatever he says. Spend this, no problem; build this, okay; hire him, okay; fire her, sure thing etc. Grade school should not be a time when kids are uncomfortable at school and afraid of teachers and counselors. Children and their parents should be respected as should the teachers. I really felt like this school got to the point where they really didn't want parent involvement, they didn't want parents to help out in the classroom etc. Just avoid this school or check it out very carefully.
