Mound City Elementary School

After 5 months of requesting additional help and testing for my son he was finally evaluated for additional help. This is only after receiving numerous emails and phone calls from me and finally a letter from his medical institution stating the importance of the testing. At that point it was too late and he ended the year with very low marks in all subjects. We have since changed schools where he was evaluated and discovered to be 2 years behind in math and reading. He is receiving the extra help he needs and is currently carrying above average marks in all subjects and staying with his peers. I would ask parents to consider the level of education their children would receive here before enrollment and how prepared they would really be for college.

My 2 kids have gone to Jayhawk Elementary for the last 4 years. The staff is amazing! The entire staff knows every child by name. The small town atmosphere is a fantastic learning environment. I highly recomend this school to anyone who is thinking about moving to the area! Go Jayhawks!!

It is a small school that has done wonders with my grandkids - they are awesome! They do so much to reward the kids for good grades and behavior - and they worked with my grandson with special help for him - I am proud that they go to this school!

I am a teacher as well as a teacher and we work hard as a team to do what is needed for our students. We are ahead of the game in technology with the kids being able to test and do projects on the laptops. We are teaching form the Math Trailblazers series and it is a wonderful series. It gets the kids involved with hands on activities. As I said I am a teacher as well as a parents and I am very glad to have my child in a great environment like Jayhawk Elementary!
