Teachers don't teach. They just give a list of assignments with no instruction. Talking to a teacher at conference and her response was that she couldn't keep up with all the kids because too many were asking her if they were doing the assignment correctly. Is that not a sign that you didn't TEACH them. And then you tell me you can't tell me what my child does in your class because too many others are asking you about the assignments. This is beyond lazy teaching. I wish we had an option to pull our kid.
I recently finished my time at Overland Trail, and this school has its ups and downs. This school has its outstanding teachers who go out of their way to make sure their students don't fall behind, and its teachers who don't seem to care if their students fail. Overland Trail has a big emphasis on bully prevention. The principal wants to make sure that all the students at this school are learning in a safe environment where nobody feel threatened, and it works. Compared to other schools, bullying rates at this school are lower than others. Something unique about Overland Trail is that it has a bigger theater program than sports program. Overall, Overland Trail is a good school with good intentions.
