I've grown up in Pratt and attended USD 382 since I was in kindergarten. I've been blessed to grow up in this community and attend a school like Pratt High. We have a new principal as of 2008 who is doing a great job along with the new vice principal. The teachers are amazing and truly care about each and every one of the students. To the person who said that they're is no control and that the behavior is horrible most likely is just going along with rumors. I can't imagine going anywhere else. All of the students get along really, really well. We are a family who have grown up together since elementary school with a great town to support us all. If you're looking to move to Pratt I say take a look at both PHS and Skyline and decide for yourself.
I have had 1 child complete their education at Pratt High School and another is currently attending. Pratt High School is not out of control and is not like inner city schools. The teachers are caring and professional. Students receive quality educations. I think there are some misperceptions and people believe all the rumors they hear which is not fair to anyone. Anyone coming to Pratt needs to check out both options and not believe everything they hear.
I go to Pratt High and it is one of the better schools out there. We are also building a new school that is safer and will keep the students inside safe from intruders on the outside.
Pratt High School in Pratt Kansas could be a top educational facility. However, the parents on the most part have no control over their children. Therefore, it is more of a battle ground of children out of control. The faculty tends to ignore the harassment of students against students. It is the only High School in Pratt. Pratt high can not be avoided. It is as bad or worse than the Inter-city schools you see in films about New York City. Nothing is being done to correct the situation. I could not recommend it to anyone. If you are contemplating a move to Pratt, I recommend that you look into sending your children to Skyline. It is a K-12 school outside of the Pratt city limits.
