Our sons have attended Cair Paravel Latin School since kindergarten. They are now a Freshman and Senior. Competitive sports, performing on stage from kindergarten and beyond in theater productions, opportunities to shine in choir, scholar's bowl and more are offered at CPLS. One of the highlights of CPLS are the yearly tours beginning in 5th grade. A love and appreciation for travel is nurtured as students, parents and teachers travel the country each spring. Oklahoma City, Washington D.C., New York, Dallas, San Francisco, Houston, and St Louis are just a few of the cities they visit. Upon graduation, our sons will be well prepared for higher education and to take their place in the world. Critical thinking along with a strong Christian foundation will serve them well. It's more than a school, it's a way of life and service.

Very Godly men and women dedicated to teaching their students in the subjects presented and beyond. They make it their mission to model good Christian discipleship.

Amount of homework: Just right

For our sons the homework seems to be challenging, but not overwhelming. CPLS students are brought along step by step steeped in the classical model . By the time they reach senior year they are capable to compete and more importantly flourish in the collegial environment.

Develops grit: Strongly agree

Absolutely! By teaching the classical Christian model we are growing kids that have expectations taught from kindergarten forward. While the model is strenuous, the expectation is firmly rooted from administration, teachers, parents and even older students that the work, while challenging, is doable by hard work, encouragement by all and God's grace.

CPLS has a mission, and each student is expected and encouraged to help spread the love and truth of Christ. The children have an integral part to play in fulfilling the schools tenets as to what constitutes a Christian man or woman.

We have two young kiddos (soon to be three) at CPLS. We are thrilled God led us here. CPLS really is a family. The brilliant faculty and staff encourage and shape students' minds with God at the center. The administration and board are diligent in their duties and great caretakers of this institution. They strive to make a great place even better. We couldn't ask for more. It can be a financial strain, but we are reminded daily that this investment pays huge dividends for life!

My 3 children attended Cair Paravel from kindergarten and graduated from high school a few years ago. Their education has served them well throughout college and into life. Their experiences at CPLS (travel, sports, musicals, dramas, etc.) and the breadth of their educational opportunities (art, music, literature, etc.) have made them very well-rounded. The teachers were almost universally compassionate, caring and helpful. They never "taught to a test" but the students always performed well. Faculty shared their lives and their faith and challenged my children's beliefs and as a result my children's faith is secure and rooted in the Savior alone. Yes, it was expensive. My husband is a blue-collar worker and the tuition required sacrifice, but it was completely worth every penny when I see the result of young adults with strong families, strong faith and a great education.

We love Cair Paravel! The school is challenging academically. Teachers help students ponder questions and dissect materials that I didn't approach until college, and the kids rise to the expectations. CPLS graduates historically do very well in college because they have learned how to study, analyze, write and present ideas. The CPLS curriculum integrates God into every class. The school has one of the finest music and arts programs in the area. This improves their public speaking abilities, encourages their creativity and increases their self-confidence at an early age. One of my favorite things about this unique school are the tours. Beginning in 4th grade, each class goes on a fun, educational tour. See http://www.cpls.org/current-students/tours/ for more information about these trips. Your child will be challenged, encouraged and loved as a student at Cair Paravel Latin School (yes, they do learn Latin as part of a classical education. For more on what that means, go here: http://www.cpls.org/about/classical-education/). I encourage your family to come and walk the halls and you will feel the difference at CPLS.

My two kids have been at CPLS since kindergarten and we have been extremely pleased with the faculty, staff and administrators. My wife and I made a conscience investment in our kids' education that will pay dividends for years to come. They will leave CPLS with a liberal arts education, will be able to think and learn how to master any subject or field, will be able to articulate and defend their position on any matter in writing and orally. The love and caring atmospehere at CPLS is first rate. Parent involvment is encouraged and we have loved walking through life together with other families at CPLS. We also love the wide range of sports offered as well as the arts. Most importantly we love how CPLS applies a Christian view in every subject taught and the classical approach to teaching our kids.

Cair Paravel Latin School is an excellent school. My high school children have attended since Kindergarten and I feel they have received the best possible education. I know that they can write, speak and think on their own and that they will be well prepared for college. The teachers are excellent and truly care about your child. There are also many opportunities for them to participate in extra-curricular activities such as sports, drama, musicals, etc.

Our three children have all attended Cair Paravel since kindergarten and they have each been academically challenged and personally encouraged by wonderful Christian faculty at every level. The school has been a blessing to our children. Years ago we weren't sure how we were going to afford it, but now we can't imagine a better way to invest in our family.

As a parent of three children who attend, I am cannot say enough good things about Cair Paravel Latin School. Students have the opportunity to learn in a caring and safe environment that you don't see in public schools these days. Young children who are introverted and unsure of themselves blossom into students who do public recitation of poetry, act in musicals and plays, and participate in competitive athletics. With 300+ students K-12, it's like having a small town school environment in a big city. The school is really a family of families.

We've been a part of CPLS for many years. My kids have graduated and gone on to achieve great things in college. The education they received in their younger years has gone so far in helping them achieve their goals and dreams. I have no doubt that my kids' achievements would have been much less if it were not for CPLS, its high academic standards, the positive peer pressure and caring teachers.

My child has been at CP for 4 yrs. the teachers are excellent educators and very caring adults. They treat the students with love and understanding. The music program and CP is fantastic from elementary choir to Madrigals their performances will leave you speachless! My child has had the oppurtunity to learn latin and read classical literature. Your child's education is truely enhanced , their minds are challenged and they are encourage to practice chivalry. CP os a great place for your child learn and mature into adulthood. 3 stars? The Administration needs improvement! As a christain community they need to look withen themselves and truly be of a understanding and giving heart, instead they look and see the almighty dollar. Beware of a change of christian heart, if you fall on hard times, you will not be picked up. Its a shame a wonderful school must be run this way.

Our family spent several years yearning for the type of education for our children that we now experience at Cair Paravel. The classical model of education and the emphasis on great works and great ideas, has taught my children not just facts, but knowledge; the ability to think for themselves, to evaluate, to ponder, to discern. My children have been mentored by excellent teachers who both love the lord and their chosen profession. Both my children have been blessed by opportunities provided by a school of this size to fully participate in varsity athletics, music programs, musicals, dramas and academic competitions. As a parent, I have been blessed as well through my volunteer service to the school. As I prepare to send my oldest child off to college, I cannot sing enough praises of CPLS and the quality Christian, classical education it provides.

Both my children have gone to Cair Paravel Latin School since Kindergarten. The oldest is now in the 4th Grade. Cair Paravel is a non-denominational K-12 Christian school where children are taught the Classics. I will never forget the day my 1st Grade daughter came home from school having memorized the Robert Louis Stevenson Poem, 'The Swing.' The reading of classical literature and The Bible is encouraged in all grades. The teachers truly love teaching and treat the children as if there were their own. From elementary classroom plays to middle and high school musical and drama productions, music concerts, poetry and scripture memorization and the reading of classic literature, students are exposed to a variety of fine arts. For Middle and High School aged children, the school offers a full varsity sports program. Our third child will be in Kindergarten soon and we wouldn't think of sending her anywhere else.

About this school

Our Classical method of teaching is unique, but it is no experiment. Some of the greatest leaders and thinkers of Western civilization have been educated this way. A guiding principal for our dedicated faculty is that every child of God is capable of extraordinary achievements through classical training and cultivation of character. We believe that all education should be education that naturally leads students toward the good, the true, and the beautiful.
