Overall, Wamego High School is an excellent high school with a nice class size (around 100 in each class) which enables students to have many opportunities to try many different activities. These include a top-notch Cross Country and Track program, top-notch music and band programs, forensics, drama, culinary arts, etc. The community is very involved in the high school activities, and the school even has an innovative mentoring program to involve community members in the development of citizens. The high school restoration project has been completed, so the dangers associated with construction are past, and the improvements to the high school are worthwhile. The community takes a lot of pride in their high school, and rightly so. There are always things that could be better for an individual, but overall, Wamego High School is an excellent school.

As a former student of WHS, I can definitely say that I was prepared and ready for college life. The faculty and staff took a vested interest in me, and went above and beyond to help myself and my classmates during our time in high school. You can't find that type of care for students at just any high school. I would also like to refute the previous comment, as I was a student during the remodeling and construction time of WHS. I never felt unsafe or irratated by the construction work or workers. I knew that it was necessary to have in order to make WHS a better place for me and all future students of WHS.

This school is under heavy construction due to a grant. This is causing a very hazardous environment with workers in and out of the building at all times. There is lots of smoke and constant noise throughout the day. Tools and equipment are everywhere and the safety of the students it seems is a very low piority.
