If every school in Anderson County had a principal that showed as much respect for their students and expected the same from them, I wouldn't have to have my children bused 20 miles one way every day. Mr. Smith should be the example used when schooling new or any other Principals. Not saying that there aren't more like him, just haven't had the oppurtunity to meet them....I would highly recommend this school.

I believe Westphalia Elementary School is a great school. The teachers are dedicated and the level of individual attention they pay to kids is high. There is a low level of teacher turnover. The principal provides good leadership and maintains good rapport with the students. The school especially benefits from very high parental and community involvement. The school is in a small town and it is at the heart of the community.
