Pleasant Valley Middle School is currently facing many struggles. Many teachers say they have issues with controling their individual classrooms. Communication from the teachers to the parents is almost non-existent. Administration knows what to say to all the complaints, but in actuality does little or nothing to address the issues at hand at the school. It is so bad there, they have lunches segregated by sex there. Females go at one time and males go at another time. There are a few very good instructors there, but those few are quickly becoming burned out by the lack of management at the school. This school is on a performance program, but will never achieve normal status at the rate they are going. There are teachers there that do not currently hold Kansas certifications, what will that do to college applications down the road for the kids. The administration there needs to removed and a complete rebuilding of the school needs to start quickly.

This is the most wonderful school that I have taught at! PV feels like home to many of its staff, teachers, and students. If you want your child to experience rigorous and relevant learning, this is the place to send them. Many teachers have master's degrees or ESL endorsements. Students and teachers are respectful as well as respected. Our school is known nation-wide for its AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) Program. The benefits of this program are that students stay organized, learn effective study habits, and learn about different colleges. Students are challenged when they come to school at PV. Many students and staff members enjoy what our school has to offer.
