Profile Completeness

BASIC

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

I would not recommend Word of life school because the grades are together. The Children do not get help with there assignments, when the Teacher is teaching the other grade. I believe that a teacher should be allowed teach are children for 7 hours and not 3 1/2 hours. I pay the tuition for full day of learning not half.

We have four children that have attended WOLTS over 10 years (the oldest is a Junior this year and the youngest a 4th grader). All the staff I've had the experience to know have always treated my children with respect and shown them Godly love. Some of the staff play multiple roles, (e.g. principle and teacher) but they do it well. Most of the staff put in 50-80 hours a week in keeping things running; and there are many parents that help out with volunteering as well. As far as discipline goes, my kids have told me how they and others are disciplined - it seems quite timely and appropriate. WOLTS is not perfect; nor is any school, however the school has already made great strides this summer with schedule planning and coordination for the next year and they have invested in newer technologies including, more parent-friendly grading software, web-based file access for teachers and students (no more USB thumb drives), and an even more secure web content filtering software.

It is rare to find a School that teaches traditional values along with education. It is nice to know that through Chapel speakers and Godly teachers my kids learn Absolutes in right and wrong and how much God loves them no matter what. I would recommend this school to anyone who desires smaller classes, dedicated staff and more of an old fashioned learning experience minus all the politically correctness of our current day.

Word of Life has done a poor job of providing a consitant and effective place of learning for my two children. I sent my children to this school for two years and each year the productivity of learning has declined dramatically. The classes are blended and my children are a grade apart and I can say that with my youngest second grade was great and I loved her teacher, but as for the third and fourth (blended class) I have had a ridiculous amount of problems. The teacher they have this year lacks organization and effectiveness with the kids. I have been to the school numerous times to check on what they are doing in class and I was greatly disappointed. The teacher does not have a set learning objective for the class. I asked once for the next weeks learning objective and the teacher said she does not know what they would be learning and that she produces the lesson plan as she goes along. The children are required to teach themselves vocabulary and the majority of teaching consists of giving the kids an enormous amount of worksheets and then sending home the papers for corrections. Efforts to work with them to fix problems have been ingnored from the dean to the teachers. Sad

I am a student of WOLTS. Word of Life isn't the biggest, but it is a great school. I've been there ever scince kindergarten, and I've seen them grow in students, and in education. Go Fire!
