Oakview Elementary School, is a place where every student is important. The school is trying to get a system for each classroom, which would allow the teacher to speak at a normal level and every student would be able to hear. This would help students who have hearing problems, ADHD, ADD and every other student. The teacher and students would be heard without having to speak over the AC units or other sounds in the classroom. Please select our school for some extra money so these systems can be placed in each classroom of our school.

Oakview has been a tremendous school for my son. His Kindergarten teacher is amazing. The entire staff is always friendly and attentive. I couldnt have asked for a better introduction into primary school.

There is something wrong with this school. The teachers there used to b e happy and friendly but now seem very miserable. I blame it on the principal as I have only seen this school take a turn for the worse since she took over.

My family moved to this area in August of 2006. I have been very pleased not only with the academics but in general overall. The teachers are wonderful and get connected with the students. It's a wonderful school to be apart of.

If you have a special needs child, this school is by far the worst school my children have attended. Some of the staff have little or no patience in dealing with children who require one on one. If you have a special needs child I would recommend that you find a school that can deal with your childs specific disability and give your child the attention they need.

About the tests

In 2010-2011 Kentucky used the Kentucky Core Content Tests (KCCT) to assess students in grades 3 through 8 and 10 through 12 in reading, social studies, science, writing, and math. The Elementary School results displayed on GreatSchools profiles are for grades 3 through 5 combined for each subject. Middle School results are for grades 6 though 8 combined, and High School results are for grades 10 though 12 combined. The KCCT is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Kentucky.
