Barbourville is a great school. They have ranked as one of of the Top high schools in the US for the past three years. The award came from US New and World Reports.

I attend Barbourville High School, and have been in the Barbourville school system since preschool. It is definitely the best school in Knox County and one of the best in the region, because I get 1 on 1 attention and a quality education. Our test scores ranked 18th in the state this year, and we are moving up each year in that ranking. BHS is a huge reason I was able to score a 24 on the ACT in seventh grade and a 28 as a 10th grader.

My children all went to the county but when it came time to choose both a middle and a high school, I choose Barbourville. I have never, not one single day, regretted that choice. The school is small and dedicated to the childrens sucess. When I call the office I get Jill, the receptionist-this woman takes the time to know each family personally and i know i am not just one more paretn calling but i'm John and Pauls mom. I love this place. I have no previous affilation or ties with Barbourville High. In fact, I went to Knox Central but when it came time to choose for my children, I choose their best interest over my feelings of loyalty for a high school I went to. My kids are loved there, accepted, they do great on national test scores and college entrance scores. I could not be more pleased.
