I would agree that many of the teachers are very good and concerned about the children. I do not agree with an earlier parent that states that is should be boring. There are no special programs like Family Fridays to get the parents involved regularly. It would be nice if the kids were exposed to more public speaking opportunities via a speech and/or science competition. I also strongly agree that is is difficult to fit in if you are not a long time local family.

DTW has not been a great experience for my son. The school is extremely concerned with tests scores and the expense of enjoyment of learning. I have not felt welcomed as a parent. It is very hard to fit in if you are not a local resident.

My 11 year old i bored at school? Of course,Its a learning facility, It's not supposed to be a fun place like an amusement park. Geesh. Wake up parents! I think all kids are bored at school but at least they get their education. They don't need a nurse. Whenever a child does not feel well or so what, they go to the office where the ladys in the office helps them. My child has gone to dtw for 3 years and is now in 6th grade. She loves that school and never wants to leave. Shes scared of the middle school, because in dtw you have lockers inside your classroom.

It's ok. No nurse on duty. No real special/exciting classes. My 11 year old is bored at school.

This school has welcomed mychildren and worked hard to ensure they learn and also to enjoy their learning! They recently reached 101 on the state testing. The students work hard but they are proud of their school.

I have nothing but great things to say about David T Wilson Elementary! I have had 2 children go to school here and both have done exceptionally well. I am impressed with the involvement of the staff with my children's education and overall genuine concern for their welfare. My daughter did not want to grow up because of having to leave DTW Elementary! It is easy to get involved for those parents that wish to do so as there are newsletters and notes sent home often. Thank you DTW for making my children happy and for giving them a great educational experience!
