Both my sons attended this school and I believe there needs to be a lot of changes made in the standards set for teachers and students. It consistently ranks low on testing scores compared to other schools. When you find out both your son watched movies everyday in class instead having class and the teacher gets by with it, there is a big problem.

I am currently attending this school. I enjoy it and find opportunities for extracurricular activities very easily to become involved in. However, I feel that some staff members should be replaced or further trained. Some teachers do not have a good approach at teaching.

As a former student/graduate of Lynn Camp High School I felt I needed to share my opinion of this institution considering the test scores. After having received my secondary education at this school I went on to earn two bachelor's degrees and will soon earn my MBA. I was given excellent extra-curricular opportunities at Lynn Camp where I participated in sports and clubs. My experience there was amazing and the staff is excellent. It is parent responsibility that has failed the school system and not the other way around. The opportunity exists for the students but they have to want it. Teachers cannot force them to learn. If education is important to your family then Lynn Camp is the place for them. The teachers are highly educated and motivated to help each student succees. They were fundamental in my education and now adult success.

I graduated from valedictorian from Lynn Camp, I was a stand out athlete, I graduated Summa Cum Laude from college and I am currently making 6 figures a year. The staff at Lynn Camp is not to blame for the test scores. I am sure there are better academic institutions in the state and even in the area, but the same fundamentals are taught every where. It is up to the students to learn them and for the parents to make sure they are learned. As parents, instead of pointing your finger at the staff, ask yourself if your child is doing what it takes to get the job done and are you doing what it takes to help them. Any one has the ability to be a success at Lynn Camp, this is coming from a former student and future father of another Lynn Camp success story

I am a graduate of Lynn Camp and I can tell you that what you see on here is not totally accurate. Sure, there are a lot of kids from rough backgrounds at this school but most of the teachers I had in school cared a LOT about the students and they did try. They do all they can with the kids they have to work with. If your child attends this school with the intention to LEARN then your child will learn. I am a 2001 graduate and I am graduating from college cum laude this year (2005) and have been admitted to graduate school. If your child is serious, he/she WILL take something out of this school. Also, the assistant principal, Ms.Cummins, is REMARKABLE. Lynn Camp is what you make it. There ARE success stories too.

as a former student I'm aware of a currently enrolled student which is a sophmore in high school whom is unable to read and write. to me that is a direct reflection of the quality of staff, and school board as a whole. now I can see the occasional student falling through the crack, but one student whom seems to have fell throught it 10 concecutive times, seems one has been pushed through. if your a parent contemplating on sending your child to lynn camp, take this statement into concideration, view the test scores which speak for them selves, and send him/her to a school where they are taught, not baby-sat.
