I have a grandson that attended Grant County schools until the 9th grade. He always did badly in school and for 3 or 4 years was going to be tested for learning disabilities. (He never was tested!) His grades were always terrible and barely passed by the skin of his teeth. In the 9th grade, he moved and is in a different school district. He has received achievment awards for his academic studies. He is flourishing, something that would never happened at Grant County. I feel llike it is a horrible school based on my experience. Did the teachers just ignore him because he's quiet? Didn't they care but put a label on him and not try with him? I'll never know but I am certainly glad he is no longer there.
why don`t I see any up dated review on here. Doesn`t anyone care. I like to know.
This school is awesome! I love the school and everyone in it.
new school year and a new principal love the activities and all sports involvement
I am a new student at GCMS, and so far I love it. however, I get no physical activity at all, since I am in band. I love the teachers, and they do not favor anyone.
My child is in the 6th grade this year at GCMS, and as a parent I was very concerned about the transition from elementary to middle school. I am very pleased with my daughter's teachers. They all do a wonderful job. GCMS has an array of individuals at this school. I don't see teachers trying to meet needs of just a particular group. I see needs being met for all students. Parents play a large role in a childs educational process. If a parent instills in their children that education is important, then teachers will be able to teach those children with ease. It starts at home-parents should remember to place values in their children and all else will be pleasing.
My child has ADHD/Tourettes Syndrome and I have told the teachers and school officials repeatedly to please let us know if they are experiencing any problems with him not turning in assignments, or not paying attention, etc. Because of his very real disability he has trouble if the curriculum is not followed exactly. I've gone up to the school repeatedly to try and get some help for my child other than just me and my husband teaching him here at home. Even though they have all of our contact information, including cell phones and email address, they do not contact us about any concerns they have. The teachers and administrative staff simply do not care unless the student is an athlete, a cheerleader, or comes from a wealthy or well known family. This school system has failed our son and gets an 'F' from us.
teathers dont care they just want togo home they dont help kids that are behind they just disaplin them and that is wrong.
I am a student of grant county middle school and our teachers there give great effort to teach every student willing to learn. Many of the kids are not willing and the teachers try to get them to study and do there work but they are not willing and some parents don't care. The teachers are doing the very best they can but the students are not willing to sit there and learn. The teachers also don't favor the A students and athletes, they care about all of us.
my child is an A student but she feels teachers favoritize the athletes. Also teachers seem not to care about other children lacking behind, and they discpline them but thats not working. GCMS needs to be a more involved school.
