I could not be happier than our experience with Garth! My oldest went to K & 1st in Lexington where there was little teacher/classroom interaction for the parents and the office was cold and impersonable. We moved to Georgetown two years ago and found what I wanted for my children at school, the staff is very kind and involved in the lives of the children, the office staff and most of the teachers know each child by name, treat each child as an individual not just another student and welcome parent/family involvement! Thank you to the Garth staff!!!
This school has been in business for over 80 years. It is truly a neighborhood school where teachers care about the students and families. It has a diverse population and is an inviting and caring place.
My children have received a wonderful education at Garth. My oldest child, who is now in High School, ranks high in his class, received a high ACT score while in middle school, and has received the opportunity to travel across the world because of the foundation that he has received. The teachers are caring, concerned, and very supportive in each child's education.
this school has awsome teachers and staff and they have a good principal and a good staff [:
I love garth. My family moved from louisville and I didn't know what to expect from georgetowns school system. I must say that my son has the best kindergarden teacher. she works with him, she motivates him and she is overall a very good teacher. so thumbs up so far!! for Mrs. L's kindergarden class. a very happy parent!!
I have been involved at Garth Elementary in many ways as I have my fourth child enrolled there. I have been PTO President, Volunteer Trainer, and member of numerous committees. At Garth Elementary my children have received a good foundation and preparation for the next step: middle school. My fourth child is in fifth grade at Garth and we will all miss the connection both educational and personal. The teachers care about your kids and welcome parent involvement. The office staff couldn't be better, are very welcoming and make a wonderful first impression for this school. I love Garth Elementary!
My oldest attended Garth from 4th to 5th grade after leaving private school in Georgetown. I was very pleased with the education he received here. The teachers were wonderful and very caring about him. My youngest is in Kindergarden there now and we love it! He is so excited about school and the teachers and support staff there are fantastic. I volunteer and see many opportunities for parents to be as involved as they want to be with their childrens educations at Garth. If we move in Scott County out of district I would most likely open enroll my son there and provide his transportation! Garth is great!
Garth is below average academically. Especially in Math & Reading. They have not welcomed parent involvement in my childs education. The school has quality teachers, however internal politics/onflicts take away from their ability to concentrate on the children. The school is ran like a business versus an educational program. The children are viewed as numbers not individuals. The Scott Co District offers open enrollment as an alternative.
We love this school. The staff is wonderful and really care about the students and stay involved with the family. They are fair with each child. Saftey is high on the list at garth, up there with learning. No child is treated better than the other and the teachers we have delt with do all they can to help children adjust if they have any problems. We are staying with garth and have one more who will be going there aswell.
