Very good school. Teachers really care about student learning. Staff members go out of their way daily to make it a great place for kids! Went to school there and know that it is still an amazing place for children.

I can personally say that Porter offers a private education at a public level and that the school is so much better then the other school that my boys have attended as well as the school(s) that my step children have and are attending. This school has not lost my children and actually are willing to work with them the way in which they learn best. And in this I am very pleased that Porter is the school that my children will attend for the next 6 years as well as the school that my younger children will attend. Not only this but that the children as well as the staff (teachers and such) all are very welcoming and caring for other students that attend. If more public schools could offer the communities what Porter does for our little area in Eastern Kentucky future generations would be better off.

The teachers at Porter are much more interested in controlling the students rather than teaching them. They constantly scream at the children. The school is filthy.

I have 3 children attending Porter Elementary at this time and could not be happier with the wonderful Teachers and Principal. We have very active Parent Volunteers. The test scores for Porter are honest test scores and a true reflection of what the children have been taught. Unlike some schools that have a tendancy to teach to the testing and not what is in the best interest of the students.
