Amazing teachers and staff. Challenging and supportive environment for the students. My children look forward to school and love learning even more. Can't say enough great things about Meadowthorpe. We're a lucky family!

This is by far the best kept secret in Lexington, KY! A quiet neighborhood with its' own little school, that outperforms all others, and the diversity reflects the WORLD we live in! I love it. MY child wanted to attend a language immersion school; after we tried it for a few weeks we quickly saw the diffrence and came back to Meadowthorpe. I recommend this school to any parent concerned about their child's education in public schools. The staff, teachers, and principal are so warm and welcoming it really feels like a little private school. A+++++

My daughter attended Meadowthorpe for kindergarten and was very excited about her school and teacher! My husband and I are also pleased with the quality of education she received and how involved the teachers and staff are with every child. Everyone who works at Meadowthorpe is 100% devoted to every child! The only thing that disappointed me was a lack of parental involvement and volunteers in the classrooms. However, the new principal and PTA are actively working to resolve this issue. Overall, a top-notch school!

About the tests

In 2010-2011 Kentucky used the Kentucky Core Content Tests (KCCT) to assess students in grades 3 through 8 and 10 through 12 in reading, social studies, science, writing, and math. The Elementary School results displayed on GreatSchools profiles are for grades 3 through 5 combined for each subject. Middle School results are for grades 6 though 8 combined, and High School results are for grades 10 though 12 combined. The KCCT is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Kentucky.
