This school has gone wild since Mrs. Robbins left. I am pretty sure the test scores will drop dramatically also. The teachers barely teach anymore and the little children act like they are high schoolers (starting drama and stuff). If only Mrs. Robbins would come back I am sure these problems would be resolved quickly
The dedication that is put forth for the students education and self worth. Wonderful environment.
I am very pleased with Bush elementary school. I have not had any problems with the teachers or principal involving my students. If there were something to happen at school I would expect the teachers and principal to act professional about it. My girls have gone to bush since last November and do not like it. But I like that they are challenged alot more than other schools in the area.
My child attended Bush Elementary from the third to the fifth grade. Although she had wonderful teachers, the role of principal left a lot to be desired. Unfortunately, I have another daughter who will have to attend this school starting in the 2007/2008 school year. My husband and I have actually contemplated selling our home so that we can avoid another several years trying to cope with this principal.
I was also disappointed with the reviews given by some. Through working in another school setting, I can truly appreciate what I see happening at Bush. My child is receiving a quality education from individuals who truly believe in the profession they have chosen. Mrs. Robbins is an excellent leader and expects nothing but the best from her staff, students, and parents. I have never come in contact with anyone within the school who has been unfriendly or unwilling to help. Certain restrictions must be in place to protect the well-being of the students. The rules are the same for all students and parents; from what I have seen there are no exceptions and I consider this only fair. I love Bush School and am proud that my child attends such a quality facility.
I was very hurt when I read the comments on Bush School. I do agree that Mrs. Robbins is an extremely tough principal and yes, she's not very friendly to most people. But, she cares about the students and teachers very much. She has to be tough, she has to be stern and yes, she cares about the test scores. Bush school and students will suffer if and when she leaves. School is about getting an education and that is exactly what Bush provides. ALL of the teachers work very hard for what is the best for the students. It's not all about the parents. It's all about what's best for the children.
I am also very displeased with this school, especially with communicating with the principal. I do not feel she is interested in what is best for all children, as much as she is concerned about 'test scores'. I have had some concerns over my child falling behind. I finally got some testing done that showed my child was one year behind were he/she should be. I have expressed my concerns about this from the beginning of the year and both the teacher and principal said to me that everything was fine! There is GT for gifted children and an academic team, but there is not any tutoring or support for children that may need extra help. What about the 'no child left behind' act?
my son has attended bush school from k through 5th grade. At first i had some problems with how things were run, but my son has done very well and the teachers are great! after i had went to the jr high and seen how some students showed no respect at all to the teachers i was very glad i had sent my son to bush school, my son has learned to show respect to others and that is a lost art now days. and his grades were very good to. i highly support mrs robbins. -lisa williams.
Bush Elementaty is one of the best schools in Laurel County. Both my children have attended this school from K through 5th. Mrs. Robbins is the best principal this school could ask for. Our Middle School and High Schools could sure use a principal like Mrs. Robbins. I have through the years come to realize how well she actually does keep this school in order. I give her 100% support and she has earned my respect at the highest level. Parents who think she is anything else, needs to take a long hard look at themselves. Our children today need some authority and need to learn to respect it. I say thank you Mrs. Robbins for demanding respect from the students and staff as well as the parents.
Bush School is a good school. However, Mrs. Robbins is the most unfriendly person not only to students but to parents as well. If it wasn't for my daughters awesome teachers, I would be sending her elsewhere.
