As an alumni of newburg i would highly reccomend this school. although it is in a not so great neighborhood the academic programs are amazing. they have great teachers, administrators, and a great principal. I attended newburg in the advanced MST classes and loved it. all the teachers are great and they know how to keep classes fun. Since newburg is in a not so great neighborhood some students are not good role models so i wouldn't reccomend sending a child that is more of a follower then a leader, but besides that they are great and because of newburg. Their staff is also very helpful and helped me with my entire application process to get into Manual High

the school is a total prison for 6th graders! you get home work in every subject every single night, even on the week ends! and you cant wear a jacket with a zipper! and there are so many arguments and fights!

Newburg is the best kept secret in Louisville public schools. We have two children that attended Newburg over a 6 year period and it was a wonderful place to learn and grow. There are some tough students but all students are handled with firmness and compassion. They educate the students they get and do an excellent job meeting the needs of all students. They take students from where they are and encourage them to achieve to the highest levels. They do not tolerate bullying and every student is treated fairly and with respect regardless of their heritage. I highly recommend Newburg.

If enrollment and the first day of school are indicators of what is to come, I am very excited about our choice of a middle school. I have never experienced a more organized registration in my child's prior school years. We were in the front doors and out in 6 minutes. All of our fears about middle school were put to rest on the first day by the organization and smiling faces of every adult we met. Our daughter is excited and anxious to go to school and we hope this continues.

Great Students, Great Teachers, Great Administrators equal a GREAT SCHOOL! Our experience with the staff of Newburg has been the best. My children's education is of the greatest importance in our household. Newburg Middle School has provided an excellent education for two of our children and I look forward to the day that our youngest child will attend Newburg. Parents should take a good look at the programs offered at Newburg and the caring environment that they provide. The principal is always open to parent concerns and values the opinions of all stakeholders.

I went to Newburg all three years of middle school and I cannot recommend any incoming elementary student to go to Newburg. Parents, your child, while at Newburg, will probably make many friends and have a lot of fun, but the learning environment is poor. While at Newburg I earned poor grades and did poor work. The reason that I got bad grades wasn't because I was dumb, I was in the MST program, it was because it was a poor place to learn. When I graduated in 2006 I went to St. X where I am in honors classes and am planning on taking a AP course next year(Junior). Heed this advice, go to private school if possible, if not, consider a different school.

Our twins will be 7th graders at Newburg Middle School this comming fall. We have found Newburg Middle School to be academically challenging and provides a safe learning environment for our daughters. Overall the teachers are fair and challenge their students to set higher goals for themselves. The principal is always visible and available when needed. She has very high expectations of her staff members and holds them accountable. There is a dean for each grade level. We have only dealt with the 6th grade dean and have found her to be friendly, sincere and eager to assist parents when called upon. The school is one of the cleanest schools I have been in. Our only concern was with the policy of NO OUTSIDE DRINKS being brought into the school for lunch purposes. At first reluctant, we now understand the importance of this safety policy. I highly recommend this school.
