My daughter has been at this school for 3 years.She loves it she is a good kid no problems with her when she needs help they do provide it to her.The staff is great Im there enough to know.Behavior and attitude starts at home .Mrs M is there trying to correct the behavior,that is already bad, she can only do so much.Start at home than maybe she can do her job but I give her and the staff thumbs up Great job

Too many students are disruptive and nothing gets done. The lunchroom is a zoo and the staff doesn't seem to care.

My daughter loves Trunnell. She is challenged and supported and I have gotten great communication from teachers and staff.

I can not recommend this school to others. The new principal has been there about 4 years now. She has totally lost control of the discipline.

The discipline is horrible! Children talk back to teachers. There are no rewards for good behavior. Rewards that were in place five years ago have been dropped by the present principal.

Overall, I have had a good experience at Trunnell. More importantly, my son has enjoyed his experiences. My son has put forth very little effort and yet still received all As all year long. I wish the school had an honors program so that the children could be challenged. The teachers and staff seem to care about and get to know the children personally. I especially loved Mr. Brown. He is the best first grade teacher my son could have ever had.

k-3rd grade was fine, however by the time they hit 4th grade you never know what is going on, homework that makes no sense,not allowed to bring math books home, by 5th grade no books are brought home, homework is unexplainable,and 8th or 9th grd. level. my child has problems with math,however SOME kids in class get to have a math book? why them i dont know, i am thoroughly disgusted with this school. fundraisers every week it seems. all they and probably most jcps schools is cats testing,which is what they work on most of the time, so they can get more money. send your child to a traditional school or private if you can. i wish i did.

Until 2010-2011, Kentucky used the Kentucky Core Content Tests (KCCT) to assess students in grades 3 through 8 and 10 through 12 in reading, social studies, science, writing, and math. The Elementary School results displayed on GreatSchools profiles are for grades 3 through 5 combined for each subject. Middle School results are for grades 6 though 8 combined, and High School results are for grades 10 though 12 combined. The KCCT is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Kentucky.
