Price Accelerated Elementary is a wonderful school with many caring and highly competent teachers. The advanced program provides many opportunities for those children able to get into it. The principal is a good educator but less qualified in her administrative and communication skills. This has alienated her from some of the teachers and parents. She is however, sincere in her efforts and given time and more experience may become a good principal. The reading program is very strong and efforts are being purued to close the acheivement gap. The Math Investigations program is very weak and basic math facts are not being drilled. One of the strengths of the school is its diversity, but it is also a weakness. This is a school with great potential.

About the tests

In 2010-2011 Kentucky used the Kentucky Core Content Tests (KCCT) to assess students in grades 3 through 8 and 10 through 12 in reading, social studies, science, writing, and math. The Elementary School results displayed on GreatSchools profiles are for grades 3 through 5 combined for each subject. Middle School results are for grades 6 though 8 combined, and High School results are for grades 10 though 12 combined. The KCCT is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Kentucky.
