i to am a student and not one of the 'big name' ppl but i forced myself to be noticed un like some kids do and now im learning better and play sports.i say that they dont pay attention to some kids because they dont try and the teacher shouldnt have to help the kids if they dont ask thier job is to make the student want to learn not to force them to learn

I feel that Butler County High School is doing a better job at helping get the students prepared for college by offering more classes for dual credit and offering other programs to help prepare the mfor the real world. The teachers are willing to work with the students if they only ask for help so they don't fall behind in their classes. Over al I would give this school a rating of a 10.

Butler County, being mostly populated by the farming community is a bit below par. The students are very smart in the fields of Agriculture, and mechanics (anyone who doubts the importance of knowing Ag shouldn't have the IQ to read this) which proves they can do many other things if they'd put their minds to it. The only problem is they're left, uninspired. Having the chance to experience Butler County as a first school, then moving to a school with higher standards, I believe that the problem doesn't remain at the students' feet, but at the teachers. I don't necessarily agree with the first comment. The teachers are not showing favoritism, they just haven't been trained correctly. They're like anyone else, they like to talk to the people they know. My complaint with the school, is that, the teachers don't personalize their attention for anyone they don't know.

As a former BCHS student, I am well equipped to say that the school is completely inadequate and unable to serve its primary function. Educational programs are neglected in favor of athletics. The teachers are helpful, provided you are a child of one of the 'big-name' families of Butler County. The building itself is in poor condition to be less than 20 years old. The counseling staff, at least when I was there, was entirely unhelpful in advising students on how to achieve their academic goals. The teachers, in general, seemed to be more interested in playing favorites than teaching. This school let go faculty members in order to have more money for football. Is that the mark of a good school? I think not. Unfortunately, there are no real options for parents who are dissatisfied with the school.
