The teaching staff here is amazing. They care about each individual student they have the honor to teach. They take pride in their students and school. They stay involved in every childs life. Here they are not just another student. This school is ranked #1 in our region this year (2013) based on our KPREP scores. Very privileged to say that I have 4 children that attend this school 3 Intermediate (2nd,3rd, and 5th) and one in middle (7th) I would recommend this school to anyone moving to this area and wanted their child to get a great education.

Logan County is very fortunate to have such a great school system. Among the best is Olmstead Elementary. The principal and staff are ready and willing to help children have positive experiences as they learn. Parents and teachers work together to bring test scores to an all time high. There are many extracurricular activities for children to get involved in. Overall, Olmstead is great. I wouldn't send my children anywhere else.

Until 2010-2011, Kentucky used the Kentucky Core Content Tests (KCCT) to assess students in grades 3 through 8 and 10 through 12 in reading, social studies, science, writing, and math. The Elementary School results displayed on GreatSchools profiles are for grades 3 through 5 combined for each subject. Middle School results are for grades 6 though 8 combined, and High School results are for grades 10 though 12 combined. The KCCT is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Kentucky. Beginning in 2011-2012, Kentucky switched to the K-PREP and EOC exams.
