I love this school! I was the 'new kid' and I got a whole lot of friends, and they were all so nice to me. I can't get over how much I love russell. I used to make d's and f's at my old school, but now I make a's and b's becuase the teachers teach the sbujects way better than other schools!

I think this school is an awesome school to bring your kids to. I went to a school in Ohio, and there if you weren't one of the 'smart' or 'popular' kids, you got left behind. Here at Russell, they try to meet the needs of all kids. I like the importance they put on academics. Most of the teachers here want your kids to succeed. Highly recommend it if you consider moving to this area.

One of Kentucky's most decorated middle schools in the area of academics. The student's at Russell are able to compete academically with the magnet schools of Louisville and Lexington and win often enough to indicate the strength of the programs and teachers. Over the last 3 years, the students at this school have acheived high marks in the state Academic Team competition, MathCounts math competition, and the Science Olympiad. The students continue to succeed when they reach the high school. The staff seems to understand that academic success is the most important part of a school.
