Russell Primary School

I believe that the school excels in teaching the basic skills of reading. However, they don't do quite as well at math, social studies and geography. I have signficant problems with the drop off and pick up procedures because the parking lot is so poorly designed, it creates a huge bottle neck, taking far too long to get your child home. Moreover, they count children tardy when weather, accidents, and long drop off lines prevent the child from arriving on time. We arrive in the drop off cue 15 minutes sometimes before school and by the time we reach the door, my daughter is counted tardy. That is absolutely not right.

My daughter Page is in P3 this year and I personally think this school system is outstanding! There is such a focus on academics blended with self reliance and responsibilty for ones own things. My daughter has exceeded far beyond my deepest wishes for her in the past two years. When you mix an intelligent child with an educator whose main concern is teaching a child, you will always have sucess! Russell schools are all equipped with people who love to educate and are genuinely dedicated to our children. They are also very receptive and actually encourage parent interaction. My comments and praises have always been met with enthusiasm and appreciation. Thank you for caring not only about my child's education but about my child as a person.
