Meade Memorial Elementary School

There is no better school anywhere! The teachers genuinely care about the students and their families. They are highly qualified and want the best for all students. The principal has outstanding leadership skills and knows each child personally. She treats everyone equally and with respect. The students are the best around. I drive my children there from two counties away and it is well worth the drive!

I moved my child to Meade Memorial just a few weeks ago. I am very satisfied with the family oriented environment and my son is thriving at Meade. The principal knows every child by name and is well aware of whose doing what in her school. The teachers encourage the students to go above and beyond their capabilites. I drive my son from Lawrence County to Johnson County everyday. He once again enjoys going to school to learn. I have yet to hear him complain of having a stomach ache and not wanting to go to school, which is what I encountered with Louisa East Elementary, where he previously went. I love this school as much as my son does and would encourage anyone who wishes to transfer their child to a school that is family oriented to go to Meade. It's well worth the drive!!

Just to let eveyone know that it would be well worth the price of gas to drive your child to another school. The principal her lacks basic leadership skills and has forgot how to treat all people with respect. As far as teaching skills and keeping up with the rest of the county you will find better qualified teachers elsewhere. Like I have already stated drive your child to another county school you won't regret it, I haven't!

I would like to stress my thoughts about Meade school. I have 2 kids, one who is graduating this year and one that is still at meade in 5th grade. Meade is wonderful. The teachers work more one on one with the students. Meade has such a family feeling to the school. you always feel welcomed there. David Butcher is the principle there and he does a wonderful job with all the kids, along with very kind to the parents. The office staff is great and the cooks are wonderful as well. Like I said it is just one big family. My daughter makes straight A's and has never missed a day of school. Because the school is smaller it is more efficent. The staff has more time . I as a parent give Meade Mem. A Top 10.
