First the good things - The phonics program is awesome! The teachers in the lower grades, K-2, are Fantastic! So are the 7& 8th grade teachers. I have had a child a this school for over 10 years. I only suggest this school for 'legacy' as the PARENTS are the ones that exclude children from activities. Some bullying within the school that is not stopped. Sad that some of these things happen in a Christian school...things you would expect in a public school. This school is not for outsiders but IF you are married to alumni or if you are alumni then this school might be for your child. Also, if you child is involved AND is good in athletics then this school might also be for your child. The very smart students are treated with complacency. I think this is what the person that posted before me means by "if your child is different" They aren't treated mean by by no means they will NOT be getting voted in for Student Council or positions in BETA unless they are athletic OR are legacy to this school. I have now switched my children to public so far I am pleased with the change. The parents are A LOT NICER at public school. The parent involvement is NOT positive at MCE!!

Hmm..lets see I attended MCE from kindergarten to 8th grade..and then went on to VC..I enjoyed the teachers and kids, but my friends that attend Abbeville High had so many more electives and class options..but ok no big deal. My mother then snds my sister to MCE and we are 10yrs apart so by now teacher/staff are different..all i will say is THIS ISNT THE PLACE FOR YOUR CHILD IF HE/SHE IS DIFFERENT IN ANY WAY, MOST/IF NOT ALL TEACHERS ARE NOT CERTIFIED AND THIS IS BY NO WAY A DIVERSE ENVIORNMENT, SHOULD BE A CHRISTION ENVRNMT BUT I'VE SEEN SO MANY KIDS LEAVE DUE TO TEASING.,HAPPENS AT SCHOOLS (I KNOW) BUT IF IM PAYING FOR MY CHILD TO ATTEND THEN I EXPECT FOR THEM TO FEEL COMFORTABLE..AND THE TEACHER ARENT THAT WONDERFUL MOST OF US IN MY GRADUATING CLASS DIDNT ATTEND/FINISH SCHOOL IF THATS THE CASE THIER PARENTS COULDVE SNT THEM TO PUB SCHOOL AND SKIP'D OUT ON PAYING TUITION!! BUT I WILL SAY I HAVE VERY HIGH MORALS AND I OWE THAT TO MCE/VC..BUT NOT A PLACE TO SND I CHILD IF U WANT THEM TO BE ABLE TO TO DO WELL W/OTHERS THAT DONT ATTND MCE..JUST NOT A WELL ROUNDED SCHOOL..AND THE EDUCATION IS AT THE LEVEL OF MOST PUBLIC SHOOLS..BUT ITS A SAFE PLACE.O & MAY MAY IS NOT WHAT IT USED 2B!

Dedicated teachers and staff make this a wonderful, safe place for students to learn and grow closer to God.

MCE provides a secure learning environment which helps students focus on academics. The school is worth the costs associated with a private education.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
