Bolton High School is the best school in Rapides Parish. It has highest scores in ACT testing. Bolton is high in academic field and also in co curricular activities. It has a lot of clubs and other activities for its students. The students are very friendly and the teachers are very helpful. Bolton is the best place for one to complete their high school!!!
Bolton is a great school, with great test scores, and outstanding students. However, the administration needs to step it up.
bolton is a great school and the teachers and students are outstanding there's none of the clique's and stuff like that plus there R.O.T.C program is very good as a parent i am honored for my child to go there and i highly recommend it
Bolton is an awesome school. It has one of the top academic curriculums in the state, with the option of Honors, Gifted (the only school with a full gifted program in the Parish), Dual-Enrollment with LSUA, and Advanced Placement. It has a strong fixture on traditions, with some dating back 75+ years. It is a large school, with a strong grip on the students themselves. C/O 2010.
Bolton High School is the best high school in Rapides Parish. The education is great, the teachers are excellent, and the atmosphere is like home. The best part is that it is now a digital academy. Everyone gets their own laptop! Instead of notebooks and textbooks, you use a computer! It is also in the top 3% of the nations best schools.
Bolton High is now an all digital campus with each student having their own laptop. It is one of only a handful of digital academies in the US and the only one of its kind in the state. The high school was recently ranked in the top 3% of school in the US. It offers AP, dual enrollment, and a well-structured curriculum. I am very pleased to have my child attend Bolton.
Havent been here even a semester yet but the Teachers have a good attitude and seem to really care. This includes the guidance counselors. So far, I am impressed. Bolton is what one would call an inner city school and we are in the South. These are my first impressions based on the first couple of months with my freshman. The parents must try to be involved -- I believe your kid can get lost in the shuffle in a big public school where there is a lot of apathy from students.
I would just like to comment on the outstanding curriculum and environment of this school. Even though it's in the ghetto, it is a remarkable education center with lots to provide to students. Though the student-body is very diverse, we seem to come together as one whole body to function well. I am currently a student at Louisiana Tech University studying to become a Civil Engineer, and the curriculum of my college classes are barely exceding Bolton's. I am proud to say that I'm a bear, and would recommend this school to any prospective student. I was selected 1st team all district soph., jr., and sr. years in baseball as a left-handed pitcher, and recieved a scholarship to play for LaTech. I find no need to seek other schools for athletic reasons; if you have the talent, it will show! C/O 05...Jacob Luttgeharm
We have had three children attend Bolton. While it is the best education in Rapides Parish it has lost a significant pool of teaching talent in recent years. The impact has been a great lessening of its academic leadership. All of the six weeks tests are identcal and made up by the department head with the principal. This means that no matter where you are in the course you will be tested against a set standard which for more advanced students is often far behind what they are currently studying and does not reflect their actual course work. The decline in academic rigor has been disappointing over the last 8 years. This is for the time period of 1997-2004.
This school is an overall excellant academic school. The teachers (65%) are Nationally Certified and spend summers and extra hours to keep abreast of new and better ways of teaching. The people in this area down this great school (it is on the National Historic Register), because the more wealthy deem to go to the newer school (ASH). I went before a panel to have my child sent to this school in stead of ASH. We have been well pleased.
