Amite High School

This school is a complete failure they are not doing what they are suppose to do there some teacher there that not doing there job when my cousin attendent this school they had the best teachers there now since I'm here I really hate this school so all parent that are looking for schools to put your child I do not think Amite high is the best school if I was you I would put my child in Jewel M. Sumner High School they will prepare your child for a bright future ahead of them.

I have attended Amite for the past 10 years and I love Amite!! Its an awesome school and a great place to learn! This year our school's ACT scores have grown tremendously as well as our LEAP scores! And I know of many students who made higher than a 20 on the ACT.I love the people who attend Amite and all of the extra curricular activies we have. We have really great teachers who truly care about their students. Go Warriors!!

Overall Amite is an ok school. I graduated from Amite High so I can personally say it could be much better. The teachers could teach more than what they do. How is it students make straight A's but can't even make a 20 on the ACT? Having attended all four years of high school at Amite High, if possibe I would not have not attended Amite High at all.

In my opinion Amite is one of the best schools in the parish.Some people seem to think because of the black/white issue its a bad school. I disagree.

I am a former student of Amite high. I now work in the Kent school district, Washinton state. I think with the resources available Amite high is a good school. More resources should be made available to make it a great school. More activities and programs for special needs students should be explored. Amite had and continues to have great teachers. The average pay is far to low for them and the sacrifices they make. I work as a district security officer in Washington and I make more than tenured teachers in La......Something is wrong with that.
