I did not graduate from Baker High, but i had two kids to go there, my son was an athlete there and he was well known got to a point where i felt that the only thing he was wanted at baker high was because he played good. my daughter went to Baker high and she hated it, to a point her grades were horrible and she quit. I then transferred her to another school and it took her anextra year but she graduated with 6 A's and a B. Baker High needs to offer the kids something to strive for. talk to the kids about scholarships, and college and have them interested in wanting to make something out of themselves. Thats at home also not just school. My daughter is now inher second year of college, and she has so much fun now and she is happy. so it's everybodys involvement

I used to work at Baker high school, and I can say with no holding back that this school needs help from the community, but also from within. Too much internal strife has broken up the faculty and administration, and this should not be happening. I too feel that the band program, which at one point years ago was the best in the state, has nearly folded due to lack of proper education and discipline from within, thus losing all respect from the community. I remember that a young man came in during the 2007-2008 school year and made an attempt to turn the band around, and did a pretty decent job of putting the band back onto the grid. But he is now gone as are several of the faculty and administration, so this school is in danger of falling apart.

I am not a graduate of Baker High School, but my daughter is a tudent there. To increase the morale among the students I think the students can benefit from additional academic programs, extra curricula activities, and physical enhancement. The outside and inside of the school can use some paint. Maybe then the students will take pride in what takes place there. An attractive building says a lot to those who are expected to look at it everyday.

As a graduate of Baker High School, I am very displeased the see the condition of certain programs at the school. Baker used to be a very good academic school, that had an excellent band program. Due to lack of support, the band is struggling to survive, and the academic level of the school has also fallen off. Under the right leadership, Baker has the potential to be a great school. Baker always has been a very safe and friendly environment to attend and enjoy school and its extracurricular activities.
