Tanglewood Elementary is an excellent school. I am exceedingly picky about where my kids go. They have exceeded every expectation. It is a nurturing environment with exceptional educational opportunities and they welcome and encourage parental involvement. My child is unusually shy, and he has absolutely thrived at this school. He has lots of friends and he loves his teachers and his principal. Every student and parent is treated like a member of a loving family. I can't say enough good things about the quality of the education and the people providing it. Thank you, thank you, thank you Tanglewood!

Central is a wonderful area with wonderful schools. The principles are VERY active in teaching and having strong relations with the kids and their families. We moved here from out of state and were surprised to see that this school uses corporal punishment.. Teachers and staff are overall wonderful. The secretary needs to buff up on her people/parent relations skills. Don't judge this school based on her alone. This school ROCKS!

I do believe that is giving my granddaugher an excellent education. They are pushing her in reading which is so very important and continue to hone in on the basics, math, science, and social studies.

About the tests

In 2010-2011 Louisiana used the integrated Louisiana Educational Assessment Program (iLEAP) to assess students in grades 3, 5, 6, and 7 in math, English language arts, science, and social studies. The iLEAP is a standards-based test, which means it measures specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Louisiana.
