I have just finished my last year at SMS and now i'm moving on to Baton Rouge High. And let me tell you, Sherwood is a great school. The teachers are dedicated and are willing to help students who are falling behind. In sixth grade, it will be challenging, 8th graders will most likely pick on you, but don't worry, it's nothing serious. And the homework can be quite intense, but it definitely helps the test scores. Overall, I love Sherwood. (it's better than McKinely!)

My son attends Sherwood Middle and we have been so happy with Sherwood Middle. The Principal, staff and teachers are AWESOME! Interaction is great. We would refer Sherwood Middle to anyone in the community and brag on the school everywhere we go. GO FALCONS!!!!

After receiving custody of my niece I enrolled her at Sherwood. She had a low self esteem, very little motivation and absolutely no confidence in her ability to learn. Once I convinced her that she could successfully attend this school she put forth minimal effort, almost putting herself on academic probation. With open communication and the help of the amazing teachers, as well as an excellent program she now realizes that not only is she capable, but she actually enjoys schools! In my nieces words, 'Sherwood rocks!' 5 stars... all the way! This school is awesome!

My child has been at Sherwood for two years. When she started she was quite insecure about her ability to succeed. With support from home and the amazing teaching staff, as well as excellent program she has turned into a student with confidence who LOVES school! I find the teaching staff to be one of the most amazing. The principal is a tad bit stern and tends to alienate the students, but I think she feels that's part of her job. I prefer a principal who interacts with the students and makes them feel at ease. She does not, but her teaching staff DOES! The teacher's are EXCELLENT! In the words of my little girl, 'Sherwood ROCKS!' I think her words speaks volumes!

This is one of the best middle school in the entire state of Louisiana. The school offers many enrichment classes, such as forensic science, robotics, and pre law. The faculty is dedicated, and parent oriented. It is a safe and caring environment that produces students who are better prepared for a changing world. The school draws in students from throughout the parish except from Zachary, Central, and Baker which have independent school districts.

I find the school of discipline and structure which is good. But sometimes with the discipline all facts needs to be obtain so the structure will continue. Information is the key, which can be easily obtain by asking why and then an apprioate discipline shall follow. Exceptions to the rules, but limited, express concerns only. Working together as a team, meaning teachers, parents, and most of all the students how much better things will be. Having authority is a blessing and shouldn't be used as a weapon. Let us not forget someone showed concern and care for us so we could follow our dreams. Overall, I'm proud that my child attends sherwood middle magnet and sherwood middle magnet is my child's school. Progress is being made, so continue the strive of progressing more.

This school gets better every year! The changes made this year have had a noticable effect on the students. My son is in 7th grade and he is learning a lot, is happy, and we feel good about his whole middle school experience. The teachers are committed, caring, intelligent, flexible, understanding people who really want to teach these kids!
