Runnels claims to be a "liberal arts schooll" Every person in the administration at Runnels is two-faced and only cares about the image of Runnels to prospective parents and couldn't care less about the student body and their issues. The no uniform policy is supplemented by a biased dress code that discriminates against the junior high and high school girls that is inconsistently enforced and singles out anyone the disciplinarians dislike. Their no bullying policies are hypocritical, due to the fact that most of the bullying is done by the administration towards teachers and students. Runnels used to be a great school, but as of the last year, with a new principle in place, it has turned into an unsafe and unhealthy environment for students.

As a former student and now parent of two current students, I could not think of a better school to select for my children. Excellent education and superb environment. Light years ahead of the public system in our area.

Our children attended Runnels for 6 years. Our only regret is that we did not leave earlier. Look up "The Runnels School" on this website for more perspective.

Runnels is the oldest independent private school in Baton Rouge. The school is not affiliated with a religious organization. The student population is diverse and religious tolerance is valued. Total enrollment is around 850 for PS-2 - 12th grade. Currently, the graduating class sizes are around 70 students. The curriculum is rigorous at all levels. There is an emphasis on academics as well as the arts. The school has excellent music, art and drama programs. Sports programs are available as well. The lower school is very nurturing and challenges the students in a loving environment. Overall my children receive an excellent education and I feel strongly that they will be prepared for the challenges of college and whatever the "real world" throws at them. We enjoy the Runnels school community and the family atmosphere it provides. Overall, my family feels Runnels is the best private school in Baton Rouge!

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.

Oops! We currently do not have any student information for this school. We rely on the state Department of Education, the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), and in some cases school administrators such as registrars and principals for this data.
