This school is great. I'm in 7th grade in the gifted program, and i have to say that this school is really improving. As a gifted student at Glasgow Middle School i am required to take a foreign language(Spanish, French, or Latin) and two electives. I chose French 1(high school credit course) as a foreign language and, since i have een identified as talented in the art field, I take talented art and i take Computer Science 1(high school credit course). The curriculum is fast paced and extremely fun. In math, I take Algera 2(11th grade math) so in 9th grade, I will e taking college course math. The staff is very copacetic and I just love it here!

Glasgow Middle school has two parts:traditional and gifted/great scholars/scholastic academy. It also has a talented art component. As a gifted student, i was able to take algebra 1 in 6th grade (you take a math placement test before the school year begins. Glasgow Middle has great teachers who actually want to teach. I give this school 5 stars

This school displayed a very unprofessional attitude towards me on my childs first day of school.I was given a run around on my childs whereabouts, which told me they had no idea where she was.I was very frantic and upset because there was only one person in the office trying to help me locate my child.point is adults dropped the ball and would not take responsibility for their actions.

My daughter had been in the school for three years. It had outstanding teachers and a lot of excellent students. My daughter was not the best of them, but she learn music and painting, and got all As for her classes. She got mostly advances for ILEAP or IOWA tests. In addition, this school enroll some of their students by their achievement not necessary by Talents and Gifted Ratings. My daughter and I love this school. When she left the school. She has finished geometry in math. This give her an advantage for getting into better high schools. The musical was very professional by the way.

This is my last and final year of school. The teachers are fun and at the same time, you learn a lot from them. We go on educational field trips that are very inspiring. We are encouraged to do our best. The school is very competitional, as so many people want to make it better. Send your child there! It's the best middle school in our parish! We're a wonderful school! As i said, this is my last year, and I don't ever want to leave!

This school is great! I go there, but this is my third and final year there. The teachers are great and really inspiring, we make great test scores, and the students are really safe and encouraged to do well. Sending your child here is a great desicion, we are a Blue Ribbon School and deserve to be!

About the tests

In 2012-2013 Louisiana used the integrated Louisiana Educational Assessment Program (iLEAP) to assess students in grades 3, 5, 6, and 7 in math, English language arts, science, and social studies. The iLEAP is a standards-based test, which means it measures specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Louisiana.

In preparation for new assessments in 2014-15, Louisiana is including more common core aligned content in LEAP and iLEAP tests in 2012-13 and in 2013-14. The percent of students earning a proficient score is expected to be lower as a result of this change.

About the tests

In 2012-2013 Louisiana used the Louisiana Educational Assessment Program for the 21st Century (LEAP 21) to assess students in grades 4 and 8 in math, English language arts, science and social studies. The LEAP 21 is a standards-based test, which means it measures specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Louisiana. The goal is for all students to score at or above basic on the test.

In preparation for new assessments in 2014-15, Louisiana is including more common core aligned content in LEAP and iLEAP tests in 2012-13 and in 2013-14. The percent of students earning a proficient score is expected to be lower as a result of this change.
